Leo's Journey

January 26, 2017

It's been almost a year since I have posted in my blog but I have good reason. On June 2nd of last year my oldest son, Leo, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We were fortunate to have caught it early and the leukemia had not spread to his blood system. He immediately received treatment after diagnosis and I am so happy to announce that he's in remission.

It's been a long road of days filled with medications, appointments and procedures, but Leo is so very brave and strong. He's not just tough because he has to be... he's always fought sickness with such grace. He will officially be done with treatment in August of 2019, and we plan to have one big celebration when that day comes.

I write this here because one of the things that fell on the back burner was my blog, and I'm not sure when I will start up posts here again. My priority of course always lies with my family first, then my art. We are grateful for the outpouring of love we have received and continues to this day. It has helped get us through the toughest of times. So thank you all for the love you have shown my little family, and a little boy who continues to fight and embrace his childhood.
